Housekeeper / Family Assistant – Permanent – Part-Time – Ormskirk – £15 per hour
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Housekeeper / Family Assistant to join a private family household. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a home to exceptional standards and enjoys supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy household.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of housekeeping, household organisation, family support and dog care, ensuring the home is always maintained to a high standard.
Duties will include:
- Cleaning, sanitising and maintaining all rooms, bathrooms and living areas to an exceptional standard.
- Dusting, polishing, vacuuming and mopping throughout the property.
- Managing all laundry, including washing, drying, folding and ironing.
- Changing bed linen, towels and household amenities.
- Maintaining organised and fully stocked linen cupboards and storage areas.
- Monitoring and replenishing household supplies, toiletries and cleaning products.
- Keeping the fridge and pantry stocked and organised, checking and replacing expired items.
- Preparing meals for the family and occasional guests.
- Running household errands including shopping, dry cleaning collection and other ad hoc tasks.
- Receiving deliveries and supervising contractors and tradespeople whilst on site.
- Assisting with the preparation of guest rooms and ensuring visitors are catered for to a high standard.
- Maintaining outdoor areas as required, including ensuring the BBQ is clean and presentation-ready.
- Reporting and overseeing the resolution of maintenance issues.
- Providing day-to-day care for the family dog, including feeding, walking and maintaining routines.
- Occasionally caring for the dog during family holidays.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous housekeeping, hospitality, hotel or private household experience.
- Be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Be confident working independently and using their own initiative.
- Be trustworthy, discreet and respectful of confidentiality.
- Be a confident cook with experience preparing family meals.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (own transport preferred).
- Enjoy working with dogs and be comfortable caring for them.
- Have excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday
10:00am – 4:00pm
