Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Class 1 Wagon & Drag (Drawbar) Driver to join a busy transport operation based in Northampton. You will be operating swap-body vehicles within a trunking network, delivering goods between distribution centres.
This role suits drivers who enjoy working in a fast-paced logistics environment and are committed to safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out trunking runs between RDCs (distribution centres)
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Conduct daily vehicle checks before and after shifts
- Secure loads safely and comply with transport regulations
- Complete all delivery paperwork and tachograph records
- Follow health & safety and driver hours rules
- Communicate with transport office regarding delays/issues
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday (some roles include weekends)
- Day or night shifts available
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Good understanding of UK driving laws
- Previous wagon & drag experience preferred (training sometimes provided)
