About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the successful day-to-day running of the nursery.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll help lead and motivate the team, maintain exceptional standards of care and education, and ensure every child receives the very best start in life.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time supporting the team on the floor while also contributing to the operational success of the nursery.
Your Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the nursery
- Leading by example and promoting outstanding Early Years practice
- Supporting the delivery of an engaging, child-led EYFS curriculum
- Coaching, mentoring and developing staff through regular support and supervision
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and carers
- Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Conducting nursery tours for prospective families
- Supporting occupancy growth and community engagement
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and Ofsted compliance
- Driving continuous improvement across the nursery
- Supporting quality assurance and operational excellence
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about Early Years, enjoys supporting others and wants to build a long-term career in nursery leadership.
Essential
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
- Experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager or similar leadership role
- Excellent understanding of the EYFS Framework
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A positive, organised and proactive approach
- Genuine passion for delivering exceptional childcare
Desirable
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
- Experience contributing to quality improvement plans
- Knowledge of nursery management systems
- Experience coaching and developing team members
