As a key member of our share schemes team, you’ll work closely with our tax directors and senior managers to deliver share scheme work to our diverse range of clients, including family businesses, entrepreneurs and innovative businesses.
- Meeting with clients to discuss their business/incentive needs and helping them find solutions
- Working on the implementation of new employee incentive schemes including some document drafting
- Helping clients to report their share schemes to HMRC
- Providing advice on the tax treatment of a wide range of share schemes including EMI options, other HMRC tax-advantaged share plans and growth shares
- Advising on the valuation of shares for tax purposes
- Undertaking due diligence on employment related securities matters
- Preparing proposals for new work.
- Working with clients to produce EIS advance assurance applications for innovative businesses
- Assisting businesses with the EIS tax implications of their fundraises
- EIS compliance forms and corresponding with HMRC on EIS matters
- Analysing tax legislation and interpreting HMRC/tax technical guidance
- Part or Newly CTA qualified with an interest in or previous exposure to share plans or EIS work or a more experienced team member to come in at assistant manager level
- Some experience of EMI share options and/or EIS would be advantageous (but not essential)
- Training will be given so inexperience is not a barrier
- Good organisational, communication and project management skills
- Ability to research tax technical issues
- Ability to present work to colleagues and clients in a professional manner (i.e. report and proposal writing)
