About the Role
A welcoming SEN school in Croydon is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.
You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
- Assist with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and engagement in lessons
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Help implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Promote independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom
- Support with personal care where required
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience within an SEN school or specialist provision
- Knowledge of Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, or learning difficulties
- Experience using communication tools such as PECS or Makaton
- Background in care, youth work, support work, or education

Pay: £97.68-£108.75 per day
