Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Stone Worktop Fitter's Mate to join our team. This role involves assisting experienced fitters in the installation and finishing of stone worktops, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and an interest in construction-related trades. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within the construction industry while working on diverse projects. Responsibilities
- Assist in the measurement, cutting, and fitting of stone worktops on-site or in workshop settings
- Support the lead fitter with the handling and transportation of heavy materials using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, levelling, and setting out materials according to schematics and plans
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently during installation processes
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles such as vans
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fabrication techniques, and schematics is desirable
- Basic understanding of construction processes including carpentry and masonry.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail and safety procedures
- Willingness to learn new skills related to stone and stone fitting.
- Valid UK driving licence is essential.
- CSCS card desired but not essential.
