Baronie currently have a fantastic opportunity to become part of our team, the position we are recruiting for is a Hygiene Operator part time. Based in the heart of South Wales, Baronie has been baking quality wafers for over 75 years.

Hours: 15.25 hours rotating shift days/afternoons
Monday - 6.00 am to 14.00 pm, 14.00 pm to 22.00 pm
Friday -6.00 am to 13.15 pm, 13.15 pm to 20.30 pm
Responsibilities
- A hygiene operative encompasses a number of roles, training will be provided for all roles as required to suit the needs of the business.
- Production cleaner, this role requires the competent and safe cleaning of the department areas.
- Service Cleaner, this role requires the competent and safe cleaning of all factory facilities, the removal of waste from the site and the servicing of laundry and changing facilities.
- Deep cleaner, this role requires the competent and safe deep cleaning of all the machinery and all department areas including high level overheads.
- Carry out all hygiene tasks required by the hygiene rota in each respective area that has been assigned.
- Be fully conversant with the operation and care of any mechanical cleaning equipment used in conjunction with your hygiene duties
- Be fully conversant with the safe preparation, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants used in conjunction with your hygiene duties
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety and quality management
- Training and assisting new staff on these roles
- Multifunctional role across all departments
- Monitoring production processes and undertake cleaning activities as needed Carry out cleaning according to a defined method and schedule and to a specified standard
- ·Comply with company personal hygiene policies at all times
- Ensure that the cleaning process does not pose a Health & Safety risk to employees and visitors
- Accurately and legibly complete all documentation associated with this role. Record and report any problems encountered
- Service / Deep cleaner Issue cleaning chemicals and materials to production upon formal request; understand the risks associated with each cleaning chemical used and their correct use to ensure that they do not pose a food safety or health and safety risk
- Service cleaner will be responsible laundry and changing facilities
- Carry out cleaning of drains, internal, external and clear blockages
- Remove waste from waste skips as and when necessary
- Production cleaner role will be dismantle equipment, clean and put back together, ensuring equipment is ready for use in production the following day
- Deep Cleaner will have training on safely undertake High level cleaning using ladders
- Service / Deep Cleaner automated bin-wash machine and carry out basic maintenance (clear jams, blockages)
- Deep Cleaner Inspect equipment and building for signs of pests while cleaning
- Service / Deep Cleaner role will be to carry out cleaning of floors with scrubbing machine, washroom, cloakrooms, drains, perimeter of factory and assist with canteen cleaning
- Follow ‘clean –as-you-go’ principles to ensure the surrounding area is clean and tidy at all times
- Attend and be receptive to any training required for this role

Skills & Experience
- Numeracy and literacy skill
- Demonstrates a team orientated approach.
- Previous experience working in hygiene role
- Previous experience working in food manufacturing industry
