The Orchard Nursery is looking for someone special to join our team. The hours would be working 8am-6pm, 4 days a week, (37 per week) all year round.
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive individual who has a full and relevant Early Years qualification level 3 in childcare. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have a real interest in children's learning and development. Experience of working with children with additional needs is preferable, but not essential.
So, if the below sounds like you… get in touch!
You’ll have a warm, welcoming smile that helps every child feel safe, valued, and special. You’ll be able to laugh at jokes you don’t quite understand—or don’t find funny—because joy matters here. A little quirkiness is encouraged; if a child asks you to become a superhero, a shopkeeper, or even a dragon in their game, you’ll embrace the role wholeheartedly.
The ability to sing in tune is not required; however, the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential. Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of the utmost importance. You must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work with unknown substances on your clothing.
You’ll confidently take part in imaginative play, from hosting tea parties to testing “magic potions” and sampling make-believe meals. Most importantly, you must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace—laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day
We use In-the-Moment Planning, and therefore have no forward planned activities, but share in the joy of each learning moment that arises with the children. You have the freedom to be as creative as you can to ensure that our children get the best possible learning experience, whilst you have fun too. All planning is flexible and responsive to children’s needs so plans can be changed and adapted dependent on children’s interests. We also use an online observation system, (eyLog) so no piles of paperwork!
Candidates must possess enthusiasm required for a fast paced, exciting environment, which is full of awe and wonder. Applicants must also have good knowledge of the EYFS and will be committed to delivering an outstanding childcare provision.
The Orchard Nursery is an Equal Opportunities Employer; we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS police check and we ask for two references in line with safe recruitment practices.
