Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery setting. Previous nursery experience and a relevant early childhood education qualification is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
We are a rural setting, specialising in outdoor play and forest school. We have a homely indoor space but our staff do also work outside in all weather everyday. You will need to be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, becoming involved in all areas of the daily running of our setting such as food preparation, washing up, cleaning, organising resources.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning.
- Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and share updates with parents and colleagues.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation, and hygiene within the nursery.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual needs and promote inclusive practice.
- Manage daily routines efficiently while adapting to the needs of each child.
- Contribute to the organisation of nursery events, outings, and community activities as required.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by mentoring junior staff or apprentices when necessary.
Requirements
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent), This is ESSENTIAL for this position.
- A Forest School qualification is desirable but not essential for this role.
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative independently.
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent), ESSENTIAL
- A caring attitude with a genuine passion for working with young children.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
