Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Plan and implement play based age-appropriate activities and educational programs based on the EYFS framework and the children's current interests
- Some basic food preparation may be required
- Supervise children during playtime, toileting, meals, and naptime
- Maintain respectful, open and effective communication with parents/guardians and other professionals working with the setting
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare setting
- Monitor children for any signs of illness or distress and provide appropriate care
- Follow all safety protocols and safeguarding procedures
- Work as part of a small team liaising with colleagues
-Observe and assess children's development
-Maintaining developmental records via a secure online system, including creating developmental reports and statutory assessments
Skills:
- Ideally Previous experience working with young children under 5 years old in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Good awareness of health and safety
- Patience, compassion, respect and a genuine love for working with children
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergencies calmly
Willingness to train to level 3 Early Years
- Paediatric First Aid
- Basic IT skills
Excellent Safeguarding and child protection knowledge
- Candidate must undergo and pass an enhanced DBS check and gain Ofsted suitability (support with this is given)
The working hours are set at 08.00-17.30 and cannot be adjusted due to meeting ratio requirements
Candidate must be able to begin work no later than week commencing 3rd August
