Job Summary
We are a long established Chartered Accountancy Firm based in Fareham and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented client focused Bookkeeper to join our team on a full or part-time basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and budgets in accordance with organisational policies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in financial forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
Experience
- Proven experience as a practising bookkeeper or in a similar role within a professional environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Previous experience working in a collaborative team environment is desirable but not essential. This position offers an engaging work environment where your expertise will directly impact organisational success.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £15.00-£17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 – 37.5 per week
