Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hoof Trimmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of cows hoofs through precise trimming and care. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, physical stamina, and attention to detail to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals. Duties
- Carefully assess each cows hoof condition and determine appropriate trimming procedures
- Use specialised hand tools and power tools to trim, shape, and balance hooves effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including sanitising tools and equipment after each use
- Organise supplies and manage inventory of tools, materials, and footwear components within the workshop or storage area
- Foot score the whole herd and indentify the animals that require hoof care
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to handling power tools and specialised trimming equipment
- A certificant of knowledge of Hoof trimming of some sort
- Good computing skills to allow lists to be created and hoof treatments to be recorded
