We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Support Analyst to join our dynamic IT team. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support for enterprise systems, including operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
- Manage and optimise virtualisation platforms such as VMware and ESXi, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Administer cloud environments including AWS and Azure, deploying solutions aligned with organisational needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain system architecture solutions using microservices, APIs, RESTful services, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Monitor system performance and implement load balancing strategies to optimise resource utilisation.
- Ensure information security through the configuration of firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, DHCP setup, and other network security measures.
- Develop scripts using Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, or Shell Scripting to automate routine tasks.
- Maintain databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; perform tuning and optimisation.
- Support solution architecture development by integrating NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB where applicable.
- Collaborate on system design projects involving DevOps practices with tools like Jenkins, Git, and T-SQL.
- Conduct system administration tasks including user management, system updates, patching, and troubleshooting across diverse operating systems.
- Assist in the planning and execution of SDLC processes for new system implementations or upgrades.
- Contribute to information security initiatives by implementing best practices for data protection and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT support or systems engineering roles with a focus on system architecture and administration.
- Strong knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture principles, and microservices design.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; familiarity with VMware/ESXi virtualisation environments is essential.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
- Solid understanding of computer networking concepts such as VPNs, firewalls, DNS/DHCP management, load balancing techniques, and network security protocols.
- Experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server; knowledge of PL/SQL is advantageous.
- Familiarity with containerisation tools such as Kubernetes; experience with DevOps pipelines using Jenkins or Git is desirable.
- Knowledge of operating systems including Windows Server and various Linux distributions; experience supporting UNIX environments is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues quickly.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: Up to £49,500.00 per year
