The Department of Biology and Keble College are looking for a researcher to provide teaching in the MBiol Biology degree course. This is equivalent to 0.08 FTE of a departmental post (a 3-hour stint). The post is available from the start of Michaelmas Term 2026, with a possibility of renewal until the end of Trinity Term 2029.
You will be seconded to the College to provide tutorials to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates related to the following themes:
Year 1: ‘Diversity of Life’
Year 2: ‘Organisms: Behaviour and Physiology’
Year 3: ‘Advanced Animal Behaviour and Physiology’
This role is ideal for a researcher wishing to develop an academic career and will give the successful individual the opportunity to gain experience in teaching alongside their research work. The Department is committed to supporting the career development of holders of such posts by providing appropriate mentorship and training opportunities.
The expectation will be that the successful individual will reduce the hours spent on their research contract to provide the teaching cover. It is therefore essential that your supervisor supports your application to this role and any necessary changes in contractual arrangements for the duration of the post. The appointment will be made at the salary point in line with the employee's current contract.
