We are working with a supportive and well‑organised primary school in Maida Vale (W9) who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their ASD provision (ARP). This is a full‑time, long‑term role starting in September, ideal for someone with a strong SEN background and a calm, consistent approach.
You will be working within a structured and nurturing environment, supporting Reception and Year 1 pupils with ASD on a small group basis. The provision focuses on clear routines, tailored strategies, and consistent support to help pupils access learning and regulate effectively throughout the school day.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD ARP
Contract: Full‑time, long‑term
Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm, Monday–Friday
Pay: £110–£120 per day (umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils within the school’s ASD ARP provision
- Work with Reception and Year 1 pupils in small group settings
- Support structured learning, routines, and transitions
- Implement communication strategies, visual supports, and regulation techniques
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour approaches
- Help pupils access learning in a calm and consistent way
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
About You:
- Experience working with children with SEN is essential
- Experience within an ASD unit or SEN provision is desirable but not essential
- Confident supporting pupils in a group‑based SEN setting
- Calm, patient, and adaptable
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and SEN practice
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a DBS on the Update Service
