Become a Wellbeing Activities Assistant – Bring Joy, Purpose, and Connection to Every Day
Are you someone who lights up a room with your positivity? Do you find meaning in helping others feel valued, included, and alive with possibility? At Opus Care Ltd in Ashford, we believe that life should be filled with moments of joy, purpose, and connection — no matter our age. If you share that belief, we would be delighted to welcome you as our new Wellbeing Activities Assistant.
This is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to touch hearts, create memorable experiences, and enhance the wellbeing of our wonderful residents — all while working as part of a supportive, creative, and passionate Wellbeing Team.
What Your Role Will Mean
Working closely with the Wellbeing Lead, the General Manager, and your fellow Wellbeing Team members, you will help shape a vibrant, meaningful activity programme that brings smiles, sparks confidence, and fosters genuine connection.
You will:
- Create and deliver uplifting individual and group activities that reflect each resident’s personality, interests, and life story.
- Support exciting outings, community events, and special celebrations that brighten residents’ days.
- Collaborate with the wider Wellbeing Team to ensure engagement across all care settings — Residential, Nursing, and Dementia — so everyone feels included and valued.
- Promote dignity, independence, and a sense of belonging through purposeful activity and warm, meaningful interaction.
Every day, together with your team, you will create moments that truly matter.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who embodies kindness, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for supporting older adults. Someone who understands that even the smallest gesture — a conversation, a shared laugh, a calming presence — can make a world of difference.
You will shine in this role if you are:
- Warm, compassionate, energetic, and creative
- A dedicated team player who enjoys collaborating with others
- Confident communicating with people of all abilities, including those living with cognitive or communication challenges
- Motivating, encouraging, and able to inspire engagement in both group and one-to-one settings
- Eager to learn about dementia care and person-centred wellbeing
- Comfortable using a computer for activity planning and record-keeping
Full training in Manual Handling, First Aid, and Dementia Awareness will be provided.
What You’ll Need
- The physical ability to support residents with mobility, including pushing wheelchairs
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of a rota
- A heartfelt passion for making life better for others — because here, the little things truly count
What We Offer You
- A caring, inclusive, and supportive Wellbeing Team where your ideas and individuality are celebrated
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities to help you grow
- The chance to make a genuine difference — every single day
- Opportunities to take part in creative projects, fundraising events, and community outreach
- A role where your warmth, creativity, and compassion can flourish
