Job Summary Carpet fitter / floor layer
We are seeking a skilled carpet fitter /Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including the ability to work with various materials and techniques. This role requires proficiency in using both power and hand tools, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The Floor Layer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of flooring in residential and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately.
- Install various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet.
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesives as necessary.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout specifications.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and painters to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation and make necessary adjustments.
Experience
- Proven experience as a carpet fitter / Floor Layer or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in flooring installation is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
