JOB TITLE: Hygiene Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Technical Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Hygiene Operatives
(Monday to Friday 40 hours per week: 2pm to 10.00pm)
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Hourly Rate: £13.80 to £14.03 (dependent on experience)
Based - Conwy
Objectives:
To ensure a clean and safe workplace, without risk or harm.
· To ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to required standards.
· To oversee the daily cleaning of all on-site staff facilities, including, staff canteen, staff washrooms and all associated equipment.
· To develop strong working relationships to drive continuous improvement in site standards.
· To ensure the Company’s Quality Management systems are adhered to.
· To ensure Health and Safety systems are adhered to.
· To Food Safety systems are adhered to.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities: -
Hygiene Supervision
· Planning the work of the on-site hygiene staff to drive continual improvements in hygiene standards.
· To ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with all legislative, Company and site health & safety policies.
· To participate in projects as requested by the Senior Management Team to drive continuous improvement.
· To support the Technical & QA team in obtaining water samples for testing and participating in microbiological investigations or projects to drive improvements in the site hygiene standards.
· To carry out any reasonable request of your line manager to meet the needs of the business.
Health and Safety
· To embed safety measures across all hygiene and waste handling activities to reduce accidents and lost time.
· To ensure that all hazards, accidents / incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
COSHH
· To oversee the safe storage, decant, transport and use of chemicals on site.
· To ensure material safety data sheets for all chemicals used on site are maintained and updated regularly.
Training & Development
· To effectively communicate with all team members on a regular basis and provide opportunities for feedback and 2-way communication.
· To ensure all hygiene and waste staff are trained and competent in all procedures relevant to their role.
Candidate Criteria & Qualifications
Prior experience
· A competent professional with proven experience of supervising and leading a hygiene team within a food manufacturing environment.
· Proven experience of driving improvements in site standards.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff and colleagues.
Qualifications
IOSH: Managing Safely
Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety
Level 2 HACCP
Competency & Skills
· Professional approach with strong interpersonal skills.
· Strong administrative, record keeping and reporting skills.
· Good working knowledge of MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
· Ability to work on own initiative and co-operatively with others.
· Flexible approach to working with occasional weekend working.

Work Remotely: No
Schedule: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (guaranteed 37.5 hours). Shift 2.00pam until 10.00pm.
