The Role
We’re looking for a practice-trained Accountant who enjoys variety and client interaction as much as technical accuracy. You’ll be responsible for preparing accounts, tax returns and supporting clients with all aspects of their finances.
You’ll work closely with our clients and team, managing a portfolio of small business clients from various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders & partnerships
- Completing corporation tax and self-assessment returns
- Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping data (QuickBooks & Xero)
- Liaising with HMRC and clients confidently by phone and email
- Providing proactive tax advice and identifying planning opportunities
- Supporting junior staff and reviewing their work where needed
- Hand-hold our clients through MTD
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Xero
- Experience preparing year-end accounts and tax returns
- Fluent in spoken and written English – able to communicate clearly with clients and HMRC
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- A confident, approachable personality with a client-first mindset
Qualification:
- Full qualified, AAT qualified, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience
