Key Responsibilities – Social Worker (Finding Families Team)
As a Children’s Social Worker in the Finding Families Team, you will:
- Respond to the needs of children and families in line with statutory guidance
- Complete assessments, care planning, and interventions to safeguard children
- Undertake complex adoption casework, including assessing prospective adopters
- Develop and implement adoption support plans tailored to individual family needs
- Work in accordance with Children Act 1989 and adoption regulations
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including regional adoption agencies
- Support and guide junior staff, family support workers, and administrators
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with children’s social care legislation and safeguarding frameworks
Requirements for This Social Worker Job
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
Registration & Compliance:
- Registered with Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS
- Right to work in the UK
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in children’s social care and safeguarding
- Knowledge of adoption processes, permanency planning, and family finding
- Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
- Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
- Strong organisational and decision-making abilities
Experience:
- Post-qualified experience in children’s social work roles
- Experience within adoption, fostering, or permanency teams
- Proven track record in assessment and care planning for children and families
