Duties
- Prepare and cook dishes to meet specified recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operation during service
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Serve dishes to customers when required, providing excellent customer service
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in meal preparation and kitchen organisation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Previous restaurant experience is desirable but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
