Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Alternative Provision Lead to plan, organise and deliver our bespoke provision for SEND children with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children's' development through play based and nurturing teaching strategies. Duties
- Lead the planning and delivery of personalised play based learning opportunities , incorporating speech therapy, early childhood education, and special education principles.
- Co-ordinate with teachers, therapists, and external specialists to implement comprehensive support.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and social skills among children attending.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to support staff on effective teaching methods and reflective practice and use of positive behaviour approaches.
- Oversee classroom activities focused on communication skills, physical education, social interactions and learning experiences outside of the school box.
- Monitor and evaluate progress through regular assessments, producing termly reports for each child.
- Support children with diverse needs by adapting teaching for inclusive learning environments.
- Maintain accurate records and work within all agency and BCSSP safeguarding policies.
Education & Skills
- Qualified Teacher, Education professional with Early Years and SEND experience essential
- Proven experience in working with children within special education settings or alternative provision environments.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis, and behaviour management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Competence in developing play based educational resources and programmes and tailored support for children with varied needs.
- Ability to mentor staff and provide professional development guidance on related areas
- Organised approach to managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passionate about inclusive education with a commitment to supporting children’s social-emotional development through specialised interventions.
