Job Description:
We are looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with autism across specialist school settings in the Nottingham area.
Opportunities are available within both primary and secondary age groups at schools that provide specialist education for autistic pupils and focus on creating structured, supportive, and personalised learning environments that help students thrive.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom. You will help provide consistency, structure, and emotional support while encouraging pupils’ communication, learning, independence, and wellbeing. The role may include supporting behaviour regulation, sensory needs, and personalised learning activities throughout the school day.
This role is a great fit for someone who:
- Has experience supporting individuals with Autism or additional needs
- Comes from a psychology, care or support background
- Has personal experience with Autism and a strong understanding of individual needs
- Is calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
- Wants to make a positive difference in young people’s lives
