What you can add:
- To provide professional leadership, advice, support and guidance to the Occupational Health clinical team and wider multidisciplinary team. Act as a professional role model and provide strong, facilitative and effective clinical leadership.
- To assess new clients presenting to Occupational Health & Wellbeing whether in person or by telephone and initiate management of case.
- To assess new clients presenting to Occupational Health & Wellbeing whether in person or by telephone and initiate management of case.
- To attend Trust meetings representing Occupational Health when required for example, Health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control.
- To undertake workplace visits Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Occupational Assessment, generalised walk throughs in conjunction with Health & Safety colleagues, also undertake proactive visits and talks (upon request from managers).
- To assess any employee following a blood/body fluid exposure, undertaking a risk assessment for blood borne viruses, and taking appropriate action in accordance with the DoH guidelines.
- To write letters to GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical Reports Act and GDPR.
- Develop good working relationships and maintain effective communications with Clients managers and other professionals both within the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and external contracts.
- Responsible for equipment and its maintenance, resources and staff cover, clinical and administratively in partnership with the office manager.
- Provide Occupational Health & Wellbeing employees with appropriate regular appraisals/PDRs, ensuring training and development needs are identified and met.
- To contribute to the further development of the Occupational Health Clinical Specific Operational Procedures (SOPs)
- To contribute to policy development within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Department.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
What youll need:
Qualifications:-
- Registration with NMC Part 1
- Qualification in Occupational Health Nursing, NMC Part 3.
- Evidence of up-to-date knowledge base of professional and specialist issues/legislation.
- Knowledge and experience of working in NHS and /or private sector Occupational Health
Experience:-
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital as Senior Occupational Health Therapist Practitioner within the last 3 years
- Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
- Proven record of professional proactivity
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications e.g. email, word processing and spreadsheets etc.
- OH Software experience
Skills & Aptitudes:-
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Able to prioritise own workload and manage own time, self-motivated and capable of working flexibly and to strict deadlines using own initiative.
- Awareness of own limitations, innovative and creative Driving Willingness to further develop professionally license, and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to further develop professionally.
