Job Title: Senior Project Executive- Development

Role Overview:
As Senior Projects Executive, you will be overseeing the progress of large projects, from budgeting to timelines. You will also make strategic decisions and lead project managers and their teams.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will participate in and supervise the development, performance, and maintenance of individual projects and short and long-range plans, develop, track, and evaluate programs to help achieve goals and objectives, manage a large and diverse team of staff and contractors and create and manage complex budgets and business plans for units relating to project development and implementation.
You will partner closely with the Verne leadership team, project team, contractors and vendors to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started and completed on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads, directs, and coordinates the project management team in the design of the overall project, and in the development of the implementation plan and project timelines.
- Identifies and develops working relationships with affected stakeholders at all levels; ensures that stakeholders are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate.
- Advises process teams representing stakeholder’s needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices.
- Provides and ensures communication with and between project and stakeholder management at critical points in the implementation of the project plan.
- Identifies, secures, and coordinates implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives.
- Ensures that projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; negotiates changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.
- Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and resources to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the unit; recruits, trains, oversees, and deploys technical and functional staff as appropriate.
- Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Develops and manages operating budgets as appropriate and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Creating and promoting clear vision, leadership and direction for the project and steer the scheme along a path to success in line with the Verne methods of working and best practice.
- Establishing and encouraging open, effective lines of communication with the Verne leadership team, project team and all stakeholders.
- Maintaining and developing the reputation of Verne while protecting our position at all times.
- Implementing strategies for service delivery, capturing learning to promote a culture of continuous improvement and better practice.
- Contributing with fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice.
Key Requirements:
- Fifteen or more years of experience as a project director-manager or project leader
- Post-secondary degree in business, management, or engineering – Post Graduate Qualifications in project management-business, or engineering.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with project management and other specialist software
- Proven ability to lead project meetings and lead teams to maintain high-quality work
- Proven ability to measure project performance using appropriate tools, systems, and techniques
