Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily using tipping trailers and flatbed lorries, across various routes. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering high-quality service to our clients while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities
- Operate tipping and flatbed lorries in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations across the region
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation including delivery notes, route logs, and vehicle checks
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during driving shifts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience
- Familiarity with flatbed transportation and securing loads securely
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
- Experience in driving long distances and managing time efficiently on the road
