Overview
We are a multi-site manufacturing business (~170 staff) requiring a flexible and capable individual to support both IT operations and business data systems.
This role sits between the IT Technician and IT Manager, while also supporting the Data Administrator function. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day IT support, assist with infrastructure and systems, and take ownership of key data and ERP-related tasks.
Critically, this role provides cover and continuity across the IT and data functions, ensuring the business remains operational during absence or peak demand.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Operations
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support to users across the business
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support user environments (Windows, Microsoft 365, devices)
- Act as escalation support for more complex issues when required
Infrastructure & Systems Support
- Assist with management of:
- Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Active Directory
- Virtual servers (VMware)
- Network and connectivity issues
- Support maintenance of IT systems, backups, and security controls
- Provide cover for IT Manager on operational tasks where required
Data & ERP Support
- Support management of product and business data (parts, pricing, system records)
- Assist with ERP system administration, updates, and improvements
- Work with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Support reporting and business intelligence requirements
Process, Documentation & Admin
- Document systems, processes, and procedures across IT and data functions
- Assist with reporting, data updates, and administrative tasks
- Support software licensing and system records
Business Continuity & Cover
- Provide cover for:
- IT Technician (day-to-day support, user issues)
- Data Administrator (data management, ERP tasks)
- IT Manager (basic operational oversight when required)
- Ensure continuity of service across IT and data functions
Projects & Improvement
- Assist with IT and business system projects (ERP, cloud, process improvements)
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better systems or data use
- Support ongoing digital transformation initiatives
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in IT support (1st/2nd line level)
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365
- Windows environments
- Active Directory
- Good understanding of data handling, accuracy, and structured processes
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to manage varied workload across IT and admin/data tasks
Desirable
- Experience with ERP systems or business systems
- Exposure to Azure or virtualisation (VMware)
- Basic networking knowledge
- Experience in manufacturing or multi-site environments
