Lead Commercial Growth in an Innovative Agri-Tech Business
We're partnering with a growing and innovative technology-led business operating within the agriculture and horticulture sectors. Combining cutting-edge products with a customer-focused approach, the company is experiencing continued growth and is looking to appoint a commercially driven Head of Sales & Marketing to lead the next phase of its journey.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for driving revenue growth, developing commercial strategy, strengthening market presence, and building long-term customer relationships across the UK and international markets.
You'll be equally comfortable shaping strategy, reporting to board level and rolling up your sleeves to deliver results in a fast-paced SME environment managing a team made up of both sales and marketing reports.
The Role
This is a broad leadership position spanning marketing, business development and commercial operations.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies that generate demand, strengthen customer relationships, drive revenue growth and maximise return on investment across sales and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the company's commercial strategy across sales and marketing
- Strengthen brand positioning across key markets
- Oversee campaign planning, content development and lead generation activity
- Ensure consistent and effective communication across all customer touchpoints
- Work closely with product and technical teams to align messaging with market needs
- Monitor market trends, customer insights and competitor activity
- Track, analyse and report on campaign performance, lead generation and ROI
- Use data and market intelligence to optimise activity and inform future investment decisions
Commercial & Business Development
- Develop and execute commercial strategies that support business growth objectives
- Drive revenue growth through a combination of new business development, customer retention and account expansion
- Identify opportunities for growth across existing and emerging markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors and industry partners
- Contribute to new business initiatives and strategic account development
- Forecast performance and provide commercial insight to support decision-making
Leadership & Operations
- Collaborate with senior leadership on business planning and growth initiatives
- Support import/export activities and international trade operations
- Ensure marketing and commercial activities align with wider business objectives
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure performance across sales and marketing functions
- Contribute to continuous improvement across customer experience and commercial processes
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded marketing leader who can combine strategic thinking with a strong focus on results.
Essential Experience
- Experience in a senior marketing, commercial marketing or sales and marketing leadership role
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through effective sales and marketing strategies
- Experience managing brand positioning, campaigns, lead generation and customer engagement activity
- Strong understanding of marketing performance metrics, reporting and ROI measurement
- Experience working within an SME or growing business
- Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions
Desirable Experience
- Agriculture, horticulture, agri-tech, engineering, manufacturing or technology sectors
- Experience marketing technical, product-led or innovation-driven solutions
- Exposure to international markets, distribution networks or import/export operations
