Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Group Accountant to oversee financial operations across multiple entities within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic financial management. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyse consolidated financial statements for multiple business units.
- Doing Cashflow monitoring and projection,
- Payroll
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Utilise accounting software such as Xero, and other specialised systems to maintain precise financial records.
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in financial planning activities.
- Implement best practices in financial management to optimise organisational efficiency.
- Nics/tax and VAT payments
Experience
- Proven experience as a Group Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role within a complex organisational structure.
- Extensive knowledge of financial services industry standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as, Xero, and other relevant platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and lead process improvements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA are desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for a dedicated finance professional seeking an engaging position that combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities within a dynamic organisation.
Pay: £25,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
