The Role
As a Civils & Groundworks Operative, you will support water utility infrastructure projects, including excavation, trenching, reinstatement, and associated groundworks activities. You will work as part of a field team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out excavation, trenching, and general groundworks activities.
- Support smart water meter installations and associated external works.
- Undertake reinstatement works following excavation activities.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow RAMS, site instructions, and health & safety procedures.
- Set up and maintain safe working areas, including barriers and signage.
- Complete job records, photographs, and daily reports.
- Report defects, delays, and safety concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and field teams.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in civils, groundworks, utilities, construction, or reinstatement.
- Good understanding of safe excavation and site practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and good timekeeping.
- Willingness to travel to different site locations.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
- NRSWA qualification.
- EUSR Training
- SHEA Water
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- CAT & Genny training.
- CPCS/NPORS plant tickets.

Pay: £180.00-£220.00 per day
