This Graduate Apprenticeship provides an entry-level opportunity to combine work and study, and is particularly suited to individuals at the start of their career. We welcome applications from candidates completing school (including S6 pupils) or those seeking their first step into employment. No prior experience is required, and full training will be provided. Project Support Officer
36 hours per week (full time)
Permanent Contract
AFC Band 5 £34,544 - £43,039 (Annex 21) per annum, plus
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum
Working alongside the Capital Projects Team, the successful candidate will be supported to deliver on a range of capital projects and priorities aligned to the objectives of NHS Shetland. The role is varied, working on a variety of capital infrastructure, estates and service development and construction projects. This involves working with clinicians, estates staff, contractors and external partners to deliver high quality capital projects on time and within budget. All of this whilst working towards gaining a recognised qualification which will enable you to develop towards future careers.
You will be employed on a permanent contract with the requirement to work through a supported structured 4-year training programme towards achieving the BA (Hons) Business Management (Business & Project Management) through Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
You will need to be enthusiastic with good experience with all Microsoft office packages, good communication skills and a strong team work ethic. You must also demonstrate in your application that you possess good written communication skills, are highly motivated, and are hardworking with good attention to detail. You will need strong inter-personal and organisational skills and demonstrate self-motivation and self-reliance. You will be keen to help out, flexible in your approach and committed to completing the training programme.
Applicants must have achieved or, at the time of interview, be working towards SQA Higher, normally BBBC (or equivalent). Equivalent qualifications are also welcomed, including Foundation Apprenticeships (SCQF Level 6), Modern Apprenticeships (SCQF Level 7), SVQs/NVQs, non-relevant HNCs and access programmes.
