NDT Technician (FPI & Hardness/Conductivity)
Location: South West Metal Finishing, Yeovil
Reporting to: Site Manager & Group NDT Manager
Are you a self-motivated NDT professional looking for a role with high autonomy and responsibility? We are seeking a dedicated NDT Technician to join our Yeovil team, focusing on Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Hardness & Conductivity (H&C) testing.
In this role, you will take ownership of the NDT department, planning your own workload and ensuring our high standards of quality and precision are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection: Perform FPI and Hardness & Conductivity testing to aerospace standards.
- Workload Management: Independently plan and prioritise your daily tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Process Planning: Review incoming orders and create accurate process routings.
- Asset Management: Manage equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with external providers.
- Reporting: Maintain clear communication with the Site Manager and Group NDT Manager regarding capacity and technical requirements.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: Current or previous EN4179 Level 2 in FPI is essential. Level 2 in Hardness & Conductivity is highly preferred.
- Experience: A proven track record in a NADCAP-accredited or aerospace environment.
- Independence: Ability to work alone, manage your own time, and take initiative.
- Compliance: A meticulous eye for detail when reviewing orders and technical documentation.
Training & Development:
We are committed to technical excellence. The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive on-site training and will be required to pass the necessary EN4179 examinations to ensure site-specific certification is maintained.
Pay: £15.18-£17.36 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
