We are seeking a talented Chef who has experience and knowledge of Italian cuisine. Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and customer expectations
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality food production
- Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
- Oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Monitor food costs and minimise waste to optimise profitability
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner during service hours
- Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring excellent service is delivered to guests
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment and fostering teamwork among kitchen staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary role, ideally within Italian restaurant
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during busy service periods
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire confidence among team members
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and customer service excellence
- Previous Italian restaurant experience is essential, along with familiarity with serving standards
