Uplift Ltd is looking for a motivated and reliable Forklift Truck Engineer to join our growing team in Guernsey. We are seeking an experienced forklift engineer, but we also welcome applications from plant engineers, agricultural engineers, HGV technicians, commercial vehicle technicians, and experienced car mechanics who are looking to develop their skills in the materials handling industry. Full manufacturer and dealer training will be provided to help the right candidate transition into the role.
The Role: As a Forklift Truck Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment at our customers' premises across Guernsey. The role also includes servicing and repairing tail lifts, offering a varied and rewarding workload. Uplift Ltd is the local agent for Toyota Material Handling and an authorised dealer for Hangcha and Combilift. You'll receive dealer training and ongoing support to work confidently on these leading brands.
Responsibilities: Service and maintain forklift trucks to manufacturer standards. Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs. Service and repair tail lifts. Attend customer sites throughout Guernsey. Complete service reports and job documentation accurately. Deliver excellent customer service while representing Uplift Ltd professionally.
What We're Looking For: Experience as a forklift truck engineer is preferred. Applications are also welcomed from plant fitters, agricultural engineers, HGV technicians, commercial vehicle technicians, and skilled car mechanics. Good knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is essential. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Full driving licence. A positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
