About the Role
Insafe Hands Childcare is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Playworkers to join our holiday club team working with school-aged children.
You will help create a safe, engaging, and positive environment where children can enjoy a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, outdoor play, and group activities during school holidays.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for rewarding childcare work during holiday periods.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervising and engaging children in activities
- Supporting the delivery of fun, safe, and inclusive play opportunities
- Encouraging participation, teamwork, and positive behaviour
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children attending the club
- Assisting with setting up and tidying activity areas
- Following safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures
- Working effectively as part of a team
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with school-aged children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive, energetic, and caring attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Understanding of safeguarding and child wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Social Services Level 7 qualification or equivalent
- Qualifications in childcare, playwork, youth work, education, or social care
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
- Experience working in holiday clubs, schools, childcare settings, sports coaching, or youth activities
Hours / Working Pattern
This role covers all school holiday periods, with the possibility to pick up additional shifts during term time where available. The successful candidate will work 3 out of 5 days in full school holiday weeks and allso all smaller school holidays.
The role is ideal for individuals looking for childcare work during school holidays, including those balancing studies, other employment, term-time roles, or family commitments.
