Pastoral Support Manager
Location: Potters Bar, Hertfordshire (EN6)
Salary: NJC Scale 6, Points 18–22 (£32,581 – £34,743 FTE) | Actual Salary: £27,543 – £29,376 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Part Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced pastoral professional who is passionate about supporting young people to thrive both academically and personally?
We are seeking a Pastoral Support Manager to join a welcoming secondary school in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong behaviour management, safeguarding awareness and student support experience who enjoys building positive relationships with students, families and staff.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing high quality pastoral support to students across the school.
- Working closely with Heads of Year, teaching staff and senior leaders to promote positive behaviour and attendance.
- Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Building strong relationships with parents and external agencies where required.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working within a school pastoral, behaviour, safeguarding or student support role.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This is a permanent role based in a school environment.
