Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Class 2 Driver to join our team in Harlow, the majority of the work is based in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles. This role requires a responsible and experienced driver with a focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. The position offers an opportunity to work within a waste environmental company, this job will be collecting waste from commercia sites and then tipping the waste in a transfer station. We expect high standards of vehicle maintenance and compliance with road safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate Class 2 tipping lorries, mini roro's and compactors
- Ensure all waste is securely loaded and properly balanced on the vehicle before transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or maintenance needs
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during driving operations
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience in waste management
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws relevant to the UK
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence (Class 2) and a valid Driver’s CPC certification
- Experience in Class 2 driving, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to safely secure loads and perform basic vehicle inspections
- Good organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Strong communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients effectively
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
