Schedule: Permanent, Part-time, 17.5 hours per week. Two-week rota working hours 09:30 to 14:30. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

As a Catering Assistant in our Patient Catering team, you’ll help deliver a high-quality food service that supports patient wellbeing and contributes to a positive hospital experience. You'll play an important role in ensuring meals are prepared, handled and delivered safely, efficiently and with care.
Our work touches lives every day, and this role is no exception. By helping maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and service, you’ll support patients when they need us most while making a positive impact within the hospital community.
What you’ll do as a Catering Assistant

Support the delivery of a high-quality patient catering service within the hospital environment.

Wash pans, prepare food, crockery and meal trolleys in line with service requirements.

Follow food safety, temperature monitoring, receipt and storage procedures.

Maintain accurate records to support effective service delivery.

Ensure equipment, work areas and food preparation environments remain clean and hygienic.

Report equipment defects, health and safety concerns, and service issues to the appropriate supervisor, while actively participating in training and development activities.
