The School of Civil, Aerospace and Design Engineering at the University of Bristol seeks to recruit a Teaching Associate or Lecturer to support our teaching in first and second year practical classes within the Aerospace Engineering degree. We seek a hands-on, proactive and friendly individual who has relevant technical experience, particularly in electronics, and a flair for teaching. The role holder will need to be at ease with teaching both lecture-style activities to large classes, and one-to-one or small group help with laboratory work.
The School is renowned for delivering both high quality teaching and world-class research, attracting the highest calibre of students and providing an intellectually stimulating environment for academic staff. Our aerospace engineering courses are regularly ranked in the top 3 within the UK. You will join the Aerospace Dynamics and Systems teaching team which is an active and supportive group of around 12 academics at all levels.
- You will teach a first year course in which students carry out, analyse and write up practical electronics exercises.
- You will help second year students design, build and test an uncrewed aerospace vehicle in small groups.
- You will be involved with assessment and administration related to these courses.
- At lecturer level you will develop course materials and contribute to academic administration.

- You have a strong background in electronics, ideally within an aerospace engineering context
- You can deliver inspiring teaching to students in the early years of their undergraduate degree
- You enjoy helping students to learn and are willing to continually develop your teaching skills within a supportive academic community.
- You hold a first degree and, ideally for Lecturer level, a PhD or equivalent experience in engineering or an allied subject with a relevant practical component.

Work pattern: 0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week. Must be available for in-person teaching on Thursdays and Fridays

Salary: Grade I (£39,906 - £44,746) or Grade J (£43,482 - £50,253) per annum pro rata
