Job Overview
We are seeking a professional LGV 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service. Responsibilities
- Operate LGV 2 vehicles, in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and report any issues promptly
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring the security of cargo during transit
- Deliver goods to clients and customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving tail-lift and curtain sided vehicles
- Valid LGV 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving Class 2 vehicles
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for commercial driving
- Ability to operate loading equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during deliveries
