Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Kebab Shop Assistant / Counter Staff to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and take their orders accurately at the counter
- Prepare and assemble kebabs and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems efficiently
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of food preparation and service
- Assist with stock replenishment and ensure the shop area remains clean and organised throughout the shift
- Upsell additional menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing enquiries and resolving any issues promptly
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures is advantageous
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience in kitchen or culinary roles can be beneficial but is not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour to enhance customer experience
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
