Mobile Refrigeration Engineer
Salary: £44,000 – £50,000 (DOE) + Door-to-Door Travel + Bonus
Location: Manchester, Northwest
Hours: Monday – Friday | 40 hours per week | Overtime Available
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established, growing business delivering specialist refrigeration, air conditioning, and chiller services across the commercial and semi-industrial sectors.
This is a field-based role covering the northwest region, working across a mixed portfolio including food manufacturing, commercial sites, and industrial environments. You will be responsible for service, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of refrigeration and chiller equipment.
This opportunity would suit an engineer with strong commercial or semi-industrial refrigeration experience who is confident working independently and looking for long-term stability, development, and strong earning potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintenance, and reactive breakdown repair across refrigeration & AC systems
- Working on package air-cooled chiller units (York, Trane, ICS, MTA, Daikin, Hitema etc.)
- Fault finding on commercial & semi-industrial refrigeration systems
- Maintenance of walk-in cold rooms, freezer systems, blast chillers, bottle coolers, ice machines & display cabinet
- Carry out F-Gas compliance checks and documentation
- Perform general PPM tasks across multiple client sites
- Diagnose electrical faults safely including low voltage control circuits (240vac / 115vac / 24vdc / 24vac) and 400/3/50 supplies
- Interpret wiring diagrams and carry out safe isolation procedures
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer and H&S standards
- Complete accurate service and compliance reports
- Occasional working away when required
Requirements:
- NVQ / C&G Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (Level 3 advantageous)
- F-Gas Category 1
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in commercial or semi-industrial refrigeration
- Strong experience working on package air-cooled chiller units
- Electrically confident with strong fault-finding ability
- Experience within food manufacturing environments desirable
- General understanding of hydronic systems (beneficial)
- Understanding of control systems (beneficial)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel and participate in call-out rota
