Veterinary Surgeon - Shenfield, Brentwood

Our client, a well-established first opinion practice located in the heart of popular Brentwood in Essex, is seeking an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced clinical team. This impressive practice offers a fantastic caseload and a supportive environment for a confident GP vet.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a popular practice with a great caseload for both surgical and medical cases. The successful candidate will be confident in all routine GP surgery. The practice is well-equipped with ultrasound and K-Laser facilities. You will be supported by a highly experienced team, including multiple RVNs, support colleagues, a part-time senior vet, a dedicated regional manager, and a regional head vet for clinical queries. Flexible options are available, either a full-time position over 4 days or two part-time vets. The role includes a 1:4 Saturday rotation, a 1:8 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation, 1-2 bank holidays per year, and inclusion in the last resort on-call rotation.
In Your First Month: You will be given the opportunity to spend a day in the hospital to meet the team and become familiar with your new surroundings, ensuring a smooth induction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets and making evidence-based treatment recommendations.
- Perform GP surgery as appropriate, within personal competence and limitations of overnight care.
- Maintain, prescribe, and dispense medications in accordance with current legislation and RCVS guidance.
- Record accurate and thorough clinical notes.
- Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner when necessary.
- Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
