Employee sought for family dairy farm, 230 autumn-calving cows, 100+ dairy youngstock, with additional beef and arable enterprises. Join a skilled team, gaining experience in a wide variety of tasks across the farm’s various enterprises; ideal for a person interested in starting a career in agriculture and looking to get a wide overview of different farming practices.
Experience: Preferred, but not required. Full training will be provided, but any previous livestock and/or tractor-driving experience highly valuable.
Driving License Required due to farm’s location and requirement to drive tractors.
Primary duties are variable by requirement and time of year, and may include:
· Feeding and caring for calves and youngstock
· Assisting herdsman with cattle handling and herd management
· Milking available, but not required
· Assisting with farm maintenance tasks
· Tractor work – yard scraping, fore-end loader and telehandler, topping, fertilising, slurry tanking, rolling, silage work, cereal husbandry and harvest.
· Optional administrative responsibilities
Training available across all areas of the role, through on-farm instruction, industry and veterinary discussion groups, and formal procedure training for machinery and tools.
