Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with medication dispensing, and supporting patient care activities. Responsibilities
- Greet customers courteously and provide assistance with their pharmacy needs
- Manage patient enquiries, ensuring accurate information is provided regarding medication usage and safety
- Maintain organised and tidy counter areas, ensuring all materials are well-stocked and accessible
- Support patient care activities by providing relevant health advice within scope of training and competence
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including infection control procedures
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of medication administration and patient care principles is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and team members
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification or certification in pharmacy support roles is preferred but not mandatory
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations
