We are Get Smart Accountants – and we don’t mean to toot our own horn… but we’re pretty awesome at what we do.
We’re the go-to finance function for ambitious business owners who want more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. In short, we help growing businesses grow smart.
Over the years, we’ve worked with business owners across the UK to turn financial confusion into crystal-clear clarity. We’re not here to bore our clients with jargon or drown them in tax talk – we’re here to give them the tools, insights, and straight-talking advice they need to grow profitably, pay less tax, and actually enjoy running their business.
Think of us as a business’s secret weapon: part finance team, part growth partner, 100% on our clients’ side. Whether it’s simplifying the numbers, spotting hidden opportunities, or planning for that big future goal, we make it all happen – without the headaches.
We work best with entrepreneurial businesses turning over £250k–£3m, usually with a team of 3–20 people, and a big vision for the future.
Because at Get Smart Accountants, we don’t just do accounting.
Exciting news!
We’re growing – and we’re on the lookout for the right person to join our team.
We’re not after just anyone with a calculator and a good head for numbers – we want someone who “gets it” and fits right in with our way of doing things.
5 reasons you’ll love working with us:
- We speak human, not accountant. No boring jargon here – just real conversations and a lot of laughs along the way.
- Your ideas matter. We believe the best ideas can come from anywhere – and we actually listen.
- We celebrate wins (big and small). Landed a tricky reconciliation? That’s a “get the biscuits out” moment.
- We work smart, not just hard. Efficiency is our love language – and we’re not afraid of new tools or smarter ways of doing things.
5. We like people as much as numbers. We build real relationships with our clients and with each other. We’ve created a supportive team environment where collaboration, communication, and having a laugh together is all part of the culture.
PLUS: we help business owners grow smarter, reach their goals, and create the life they want for themselves, their families, and their teams – and that feels soooooo good!
Is this the single greatest accounting job in the entire world?!
Probably… maybe… you tell us!
And Here’s Why:
We’re not new to this game. We’ve been helping ambitious business owners grow smarter for years – and we’ve gotten really good at it. You’ll be joining an established and growing team based in our Codsall office, working alongside experienced colleagues who genuinely enjoy what they do.
We also have a brilliant remote support team behind the scenes, so you’ll always have people around you to collaborate with, learn from, and bounce ideas off. We’ve built a supportive culture where teamwork, communication, and helping each other succeed is a huge part of how we work.
We’ll support you to grow too. We’ll train you in all aspects of working within a modern private practice, helping you build new skills, gain valuable experience, and continue developing your career. We’re big believers in investing in our people, because when the team grows, the business grows too.
Here’s a few extra reasons people love working here:

WHAT YOUR TYPICAL DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:
8:30am – Arrive at the office, grab a cuppa, give Poppy the office dog a fuss, catch up with the team, and get ready for our daily huddle.
9:15am – Jump on a client call to help them better understand their numbers and answer a few questions about their bookkeeping. They leave the call feeling clearer, more confident, and fully supported.
10:00am – Review a client’s bookkeeping and management information, spot a couple of issues before they become problems, and make recommendations to keep everything running smoothly.
10:30am – It’s your comms beat — time to check your emails, respond to client queries, and keep everything moving. Our clients love a quick response, and we don’t like to keep them waiting.
10:45am – Brew break! Time to refill the kettle, have a quick catch-up with the team, and keep everyone hydrated before diving back in.
11:15am – Pick up the phone to HMRC (deep breath!) to chase an update for a client. Surprisingly… you get through quickly and get it sorted.
11:45am – Help onboard a brand-new client by setting them up on Xero, Apron, and our systems, making the process feel simple and stress-free. You also spot a couple of ways to improve their workflow straight away.
12:30pm – Lunch! Whether it’s a quick walk, lunch with the team, or just five minutes of peace and quiet, you’ve earned it.
1:00pm – Review a client’s management accounts and highlight key insights that will help them make smarter business decisions and improve profitability.
2:00pm – Review VAT returns, support the wider team with queries, and help keep month-end deadlines on track across your client portfolio.
2:30pm – Afternoon brew break. Another tea or coffee, a quick reset, and maybe a biscuit if it’s been one of those days. We firmly believe good work runs on good brews.
3:00pm – Comms beat again! A final check-in on emails, client messages, and anything urgent before the day wraps up.
3:30pm – Final tidy-up of the day, checking deadlines, updating systems, and making sure clients are fully looked after before you head home.
4:00pm – Log off knowing you’ve genuinely helped business owners feel more confident, organised, and in control of their finances.
Before you head home, clean down your desk, do your washing up, and get everything ready for the next day, because we believe a great day starts with being prepared.
Every day will be different — but the goal is always the same: keep our clients happy, informed, and moving forward.
