Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our team at Westbourne Care Home in Hitchin. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our residents' linens and clothing, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment. Your contribution will help us uphold our commitment to quality care and resident well-being. The role is three hours on Saturday and three hours on Sunday
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and wash residents' laundry following established procedures.
- Ensure all linens and clothing are cleaned to the highest standards.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry activities.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the storage and distribution of clean laundry.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
- Support the overall cleanliness of the laundry area.
- Collaborate with care staff to meet residents’ individual needs.
- Qualifications
- Previous hotel or similar experience is desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Good attention to detail and hygiene standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to laundry services is a plus.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
