Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the well-being of clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to delivering person-centred care. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between care locations. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible
- Help in implementing and following personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a caring environment
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in clients’ health status
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support with light domestic duties including meal preparation and light cleaning tasks
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
- Use IT systems to update client records securely and efficiently
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with clients and team members
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Driving experience or a valid driving licence is desirable for travel between different care locations
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to adapt support accordingly is beneficial
