Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in line with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations and health standards
- Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings fresh and appealing
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently
- Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality and service standards
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a restaurant or pub setting
- Supervising experience with team management skills to motivate and lead staff effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience in food production, culinary arts, and hospitality service
- Good communication skills to liaise seamlessly with team members and front-of-house staff
