The Role: Health & Wellness Protein Production Operative
** No experience needed; full in-house training will be provided **
This is a great opportunity to join our Health & Wellness manufacturing team as a Production Operative, working on the manufacture of well-known protein and nutrition products for leading brands such as SCI-MX, Protein Dynamix, and many more. Following our recent acquisition of the well-known brand Slimfast, we are looking for motivated candidates with a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn to join our growing team. This is an exciting time to come on board as we prepare to move across the road into our new, multi-million-pound, purpose-built manufacturing facility.

Location: The Hive, Unit 2, Beacon Road, Manchester, Trafford Park, M17 1AF
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 14:00
Salary: £28,418.01

Role and Responsibilities:
Production Operative Responsibilities:
1. Production & Processing
- Operate food production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow production processes & procedures.
- Meet work efficiently in safe manner to maximise outputs whilst maintaining quality.
2. Food Safety & Hygiene
- Comply with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, SALSA, etc.)
- Always maintain high personal hygiene standards
- Prevent cross-contamination.
- Report any food safety risks or contamination immediately
3. Quality Control
- Carry out quality checks (weight, appearance, labelling)
- Record production and quality data accurately
- Identify and report non-conforming products
- Support continuous improvement and corrective actions
4. Health & Safety
- Follow health and safety policies and safe systems of work
- Use PPE correctly and report damaged or missing PPE
- Identify hazards and report accidents or near misses
- Participate in safety briefings and training
5. Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Clean work areas, equipment, and tools according to cleaning schedules
- Follow COSHH procedures for cleaning chemicals
- Maintain a tidy and organised workstation
- Support deep cleaning and hygiene audits
6. Equipment & Machinery
- Set up, operate, and shut down machinery safely
- Perform basic equipment checks and routine maintenance
- Report faults, breakdowns, or abnormalities promptly
- Avoid misuse or unauthorised adjustment of equipment
7. Documentation & Records
- Complete production, quality, and traceability records accurately
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with audit and legal requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of company information
8. Teamwork & Communication
- Work effectively as part of a production team
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues
- Support new starters and follow line-leader instructions
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
9. Flexibility & Continuous Improvement
- Be flexible to work across different production areas if required
- Support efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives
- Engage in training and skills development
- Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and productivity
